Most of the problems occured while in the Marine Corps, and I never got diagnosed or treated properly. My job as a heavy equipment technician is very vigorous and both Dr. Peterson and Dr. Emel have put procedures in place to help me with that aspect. "I am a freshman soccer player at Owasso High School. I severely strained my groin at practice on a Thursday afternoon. I showed my Mom right after practice and she took me to the clinic where my brother had physical therapy. It was already knotted up and I was in tears with the pain and the stress of possibly not being ready for the start of the high school season. Dr. Pitts saw me at 10 a.m. the next morning. When he told me I was out for at least two weeks and would miss my season opener, I was crushed and afraid I would lose my spot on the team. Dr. Pitts reassured me it would all be okay and asked if I would like for him to contact my coach. He contacted my coach that afternoon and it made all the difference! My coach knew I was serious about my recovery and that Dr. Pitts and my physical therapist were staying on top of things. He went above and beyond diagnosing my injury.
