Rodney L. Plaster, M.D.

Hip, Knee, Joint Reconstruction

Dr. Plaster joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1992. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Dr. Plaster received his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, and his internship in internal medicine from The University of Kansas, Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He then went on to complete residencies in orthopaedic surgery and pediatric orthopaedics from St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas and Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Plaster has also completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction, total hip, total knees from The University of Utah.

Dr. Plaster’s dedicated joint replacement team includes his clinical research assistant, Julie McGee, Ms. Kara Starkman, PA-C, and Ms. Michelle Robertson, PA-C. Ms. Starkman, PA-C has specialized in joint replacements for 5 years and has also co-authored several publications and presentations. They take a team approach to providing an individualized treatment plan, focusing on patients' needs. When it comes to Dr. Plaster's philosophy, he combines academic and clinical research with product development to sustain leading-edge, total joint knowledge to provide the highest level of care for his patients.  

In addition to his duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Plaster serves as a clinical instructor at OU College of Medicine. When not performing surgery, seeing patients in clinic, or teaching students, Dr. Plaster enjoys road cycling, boating, and travel.

Dr. Plaster is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
